We are a DID system with current headcount of about 30. We are bodily 22, use they/them pronouns and the name Teddy collectively.
What is DID? DID is a lack of cohesion in the brain due to trauma. All children have a fragmented personality between age 5-8 normally developing children coalece into one cohesive personality. In cases of instability and trauma the brain never feels safe enough to do this and instead maintains different self states (alters) often with high amnesia between self states. This is the brain protecting the child from the instability and trauma.
